Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) is a community owned, self-sustainable city with 35,000 residents over 25,000 acres of land. Unlike most models which move the locals away from their land, the locals were urged to stay on their land as partners with the city to benefit from the development. Construction began in 2014 and includes the 5000 bed Hamptons Hospital, Hamptons Shopping Mall, Hamptons Café Bed and Breakfast, 10MW Solar Power Plant, 3500 solar streetlights, 36 hole golf course, 24-hour security, and full accommodation for medical tourists.
At Mwale Medical and Technology City, we believe healthcare is a right for all of humanity, and we strive to provide access to quality and affordable healthcare for all Kenyans. In line with this initiative, the MMTC Marathon is a social impact initiative meant to raise money for NHIF Premiums for underprivileged families within Kenya.
Therefore, all proceeds from the marathon will go directly toward NHIF Premiums for Kenyans who otherwise would face the financial hardships of healthcare themselves. Ultimately, we strive to sponsor 100,000 families within Kenya by raising Kshs. 1 billion, all for the health of Kenyans.
The Inaugural MMTC Marathon comprises of 5 events.
The 42km, 21km, 10km, and 1600m races all include prize money.
The 5km run is a charity run, fun run, and executive run.
